Oscars 2019: Photos of the good, the bad and the ugly on the red carpet

The 91st edition of the Academy Awards took place on Sunday, February 24, 2019, and actors, actresses and so many other stakeholders turned out in their glory to celebrate a night of excellence. As expected, loads of celebrities appeared on the red carpet looking stylish and absolutely breathtaking in their lovely and well-fitted outfits. There were also cases of people that had one begging the question, ‘What were you thinking?’ Jennifer Hudson, Lady Gaga , Jennifer Lopez and Angela Basset were eye candies of the ceremony and they made the list of some of our best dressed stars to walk the red carpet. Guilianna Rancic, Awkafina and Maya Rudolph made the list of some of the worst dressed at the award ceremony. FG calls for immediate arrest of anyone who announces presidential election results before INEC

- The federal government has accused the PDP of claiming victory in the Saturday's presidential election - The government said the PDP is laying ground for constitutional crisis with the alleged move - The information minister, Lai Mohammed, speaking on behalf of FG, called for immediate arrest of anyone found announcing results ahead of INEC The federal government has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is laying the groundwork for a constitutional crisis by unleashing its “talking heads” to claim victory in the Saturday election, even when INEC has yet to announce the results. The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the allegation on behalf of the government in a statement issued in Oro, Kwara state, on Monday, February 25. He alleged that the PDP’s claim to victory in the polls through its spokespersons, including Buba Galadima, Osita Chidoka and Femi Fani-Kayode, was an action that amounted to a clear case of impunity. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has won the presidential election in Ondo state.The state is currently governed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Nigeria’s ruling APC. In the final results announced on Monday, February 25, Abubakar of the PDP scored 275,901 votes to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC who scored 241,769 votes, Premium Times reports. Total accredited voters were 598,586, total votes cast: 586,827, while rejected votes were 30,833 The total number of polling units where voting was cancelled is 80. The reasons include over-voting, widespread violence, intimidation of electorate and staff, failure of card readers and outright disruption of the election. Corps member who was brave enough to rescue his colleague during election receives monetary donations from Nigerians (photos)

Over the weekend, Nigerians came out to decide on the new president that would lead the country for the next four years. On Saturday, February 23, during the election, it was reported that the polling units in some parts of the country were a bit violent, due to some people who were trying to forcefully make their way. As a result, some corps members who were working as ad-hoc staff for the election, were caught in the crossfire. A young man who was brave enough to save a friend during a violent scene at a polling unit has received monetary donations from many Nigerians. The young man who is a corps member had saved his colleague while everyone was running for their lives. Baba Suwe’s first son Adesola Omidina writes open letter thanking Nigerians for coming to his father’s aid

Legit.ng has been given a lot of recent updates about Baba Suwe who is presently sick. The ailing Nollywood actor took to asking Nigerians to come to his aid after his illness aggravated. In light of this, a lot of Nigerians have come to his aid. Even the vice president of Nigeria Yomi Osinbajo honoured the veteran comic actor by donating a sum of N1 million to him. The politician promised to give him more to aid his quick recovery.
