2019 election: Atiku considers asking court to imprison INEC chairman

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar , has warned that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yakubu Mahmood risk imprisonment over disobedience of a court order to allow access to the party. Social media was recent abuzz with the news of a gateman who exhibited an unusual act of selflessness by rejecting a house gift from his boss, and instead requesting for a borehole to be built in his community. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s information and culture minister, said late Thursday, April 25, that the power to dissolve the federal cabinet rests with President Muhammadu Buhari. Mohammed, in a statement made available to Legit.ng said the fact that the valedictory session of the federal cabinet will be held on May 22, 2019, does not mean that the cabinet will be dissolved on the same day. The statement said the minister made the clarification over his earlier statement to State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at thePresidential Villa.
