The Nigerian Center for Disease Control has confirmed five new cases of Coronavirus in the country. This was announced through the official Twitter page of the agency on Friday night.   The Lagos State Government has set up food banks across the state to cater for 200,000 households in 377 wards in the state to cater for the most vulnerable during the mandated lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus.  Residents, who cannot afford meals during the lockdown will receive food provided by the state. A statement by the Lagos State Government on Friday reads, "Few days after LASG issued a stay-at-home directive to residents, in order to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unveiled economic stimulus package for the indigent and the most vulnerable in the society. I am happy to announce an economic stimulus package to help our residents cushion the effects of our #StayAtHome directive to stop the spread of #COVID19 . Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday dare, said this on his Twitter handle on Friday. “Mr President has approved for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to open and make available the stadiums in Surulere Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Kaduna, as well as our NYSC camps nationwide for use as isolation centres as they are needed. We are in touch with relevant authorities.” The Lagos State Government has already converted the Onikan Stadium into an isolation centre earlier in the week.   The Sokoto State Government on Friday announced the closure of entry points into the ancient city in order to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country. Governor Aminu Tambuwal in a broadcast said that only the movement of medical supplies and essential food items will be allowed into Sokoto from other parts of the country. He said the closure will stay in place for an initial two weeks pending observations on the pattern of the disease in the state and country. Also, all civil servants on grade level 12 and below have been directed by the state government to work from home for two weeks from Friday, March 27 to Friday, April 10, 2020.
