Reuther Freeway in honor of the former head of the United Automobile Workers, it is a bypass route through the northern suburbs of Detroit in Oakland and Macomb counties. Its western terminus connects with I-96 and I-275 in Farmington Hills. It runs east through suburbs including Southfield, Royal Oak and Warren before merging on its east end into I-94 at St. Clair Shores. Planning for the freeway started in the 1950s, and construction on the first segment started in 1961. The western third of the freeway opened in 1963, and the eastern third was completed in January 1979. The central segment was the subject of controversy over its routing and the effect on local communities and the environment, delaying its completion until December 15, 1989. Buhari’s Fight Against Corruption Profoundly Disappointing -Ex-presidential Adviser

A former political adviser in the Presidency, Dr Usman Bugaje, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption as one that is profoundly disappointing. Bugaje said this while speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Serikin Fulani of Lagos State, Dr Mohammad Bambado 11. Bugaje also condemned the incessant attacks by Boko Haram sect in the country, incompetent politicians whose only way of winning is through manipulation of religion and ethnicity. He said every Nigerian must be worried that the fight against corruption was being lost.  He stated, “The fight against corruption is to say the least profoundly disappointing.” He urged the government to find lasting solution to rising unemployment in the country, saying if not arrested, it poses a big threat to the country, Daily Trust reports. Orji Kalu’s Properties Marked By EFCC Over N7bn Fraud

  Anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has marked properties belonging to a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu. According to a statement by spokesperson for the agency, Wilson Uwujaren, the marking of the properties followed the December 5, 2019 order of Justice Muhammed Idris sitting at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. The Sun newspaper and Slok Nigeria Ltd are among Kalu’s properties marked by the EFCC. Nigeria Back To Military Era –Okogie

Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie   A former Catholic archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Okogie, has said that Nigeria was back to the era of military dictatorship. In a statement on Friday, the outspoken Catholic priest said that the country needed leaders, who would be interested in listening to the people and entertaining their views no matter how critical it may be. Okogie, who condemned the now usual disobedience of court orders by President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime, added that it was important for citizens’ rights to be respected for Nigeria to make progress as a democratic society.
