Excellence is the quality or state of being outstanding and superior in performance and outcome. It is the state of optimal existence and performance. It is living far above average existence. It is living life at its best, a life of quality, distinction and merit. Now, one way to enhance excellence in life is by sharpening one’s mentality. The degree of mentality you involve in your activity determines the level of quality you produce. Let me

DCLM Daily Manna – Not Just For God!

Topic: Not Just For God! [ DCLM Daily Manna 10 May 2020 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi] Text:  Job 22:1-20 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? 3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? 4 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment? 5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? 6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing. 7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry. 8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it. 9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. 10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee; 11 Or darkness, tha

Where Is Nigeria? By Evans Ufeli Esq.

By geo-political and global categorization, Nigeria is a third world country. The country boasts of a huge population, incredible ethnic diversity, rich cultural provincialism, unique human talent aggregation and a huge destination of natural resources. However, despite the aforementioned, Nigeria is a third world country and the poverty capital of the world. It is a disturbing irony to be in a position like this and still her government has no blueprint on where the nation is headed to as a country.  Where is Nigeria? With its natural endowment, Nigeria should be a first world nation like the United States and others. A first word nation has certain socio-economic attributes that qualifies it on the ranking. What are the variables of a first word nation? Does Nigeria have the indices or determinant of a first world nation? Are we making attempts to develop the features? The answer is no! The primary features of a first world nation are five fundamental values, these first

Abacha's Loot: Let Us Worship The North And Forget Other Regions By Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed

Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed Desperation gave birth to nepotism in addendum to modern slavery by the President Muhammadu Buhari regime. The rule of law has also been manipulated since the attainment of independence. Abacha’s loot seems to be a source of joy for this administration and an opportunity to re-loot, while any suggestion to invest on human capital and ultimately boost the economy is considered a taboo. The poverty rate in Nigeria is alarmingly high and a higher percentage of it comes from the North. The population density in the Northern part of the country serves as a reason for leaders in the region to hide under the guise of population growth to defraud ordinary northerners, because majority of them lack basic education. The deliberate misleading claim of one Nigeria when one region is considered more important than others, has summarily overruled the power of the rule of law.  Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed Insecurity has enchained a large portion of the North, whilst Bok

More Nigerians Take Businesses Online As COVID-19 Restricts Movement, Threatens Incomes

The lockdown in most Nigerian cities put in place as part of measures to stop the spread of Coronavirus has caused a lot of businesses to suffer losses while also creating an opportunity for innovative ideas through digital technology to sail through. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, the e-commerce market in Nigeria was worth around $20bn. It was projected to rise to $50bn over the next seven years, contributing at least N25trn to the country's Gross Domestic Product.  Google New entrants in the e-commerce sector are taking advantage of the restrictions in movement to create a digital presence for their businesses and offer new services to customers. "I used to be a housewife, I stopped working in 2017 after I had my first child but before then, I have always wanted to own my own business. “I have a lot of friends who sell hair or clothes on Instagram, so when the lockdown started and it was difficult to buy food items, that was when I thought of creating my shoppin

COVID–19: Universities In Nigeria Are Whitewashed Sepulchres By Promise Eze

Promise Eze It's saddening to note that when the deadly COVID–19 virus struck Nigeria, our universities shut down alongside nursery and primary schools. No room was provided for e-learning. Nigerian students are glued to their houses waiting for when they'll frog leap to school while their counterparts in the Western world are receiving lectures online. Education in saner climes has gone digital but in Nigeria the case is different. Truth be told, in terms of tertiary education, Nigeria is lagging behind. We may be in the 21st century but our universities are manned as if we were in the 17th century. Our universities are whitewashed sepulchres, beautiful outside but stinking inside. Universities in Europe and America are in the search for a solution to the COVID–19 pandemic but the brains of professors and researchers have gone on self–isolation. What is the use of certificates if they do not bring solutions to real life problems?  Promise Eze The average Nigerian lec
