Ondo Nurses Stage Protest Against Victimisation By Hospital’s Management

The DNS, Mrs. Olayinka. Nurses at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo State have protested over alleged victimisation by the hospital authorities. The nurses explained that they were always victimised anytime they demanded their rights including salaries.  Some of them said they receive all sorts of queries daily from the authorities if they demanded their benefits. The action, the nurses claimed, was making them feel depressed to continue working at the government-owned hospital. The protesting nurses accused the Director of Nursing Services at the teaching hospital, Ajetunmobi Fehintola Olayinka, of specifically victimising them.  One of the nurses, who simply identified herself as Bisi, told SaharaReporters that the health workers were angry over the unfavourable actions of the hospital authority. A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has described the nationwide #EndSars protest as a signal and message to those in positions of authority that a revolution is inevitable in an atmosphere of social, economic and political inequities. Delta Women Protest Against Ned Nwoko, Appeal For Governor Okowa’s Intervention

Women of Idumuje-Ugboko community under Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday protested against Nigerian billionaire and former federal lawmakers, Ned Nwoko, accusing him of tormenting indigenes and incarcerating their husbands, relatives and sons. Nwoko is being accused of forcefully taking over several hectares of land belonging to members of the community. The protesting women of various ages under the umbrella of Concerned Women of Idumuje-Ugboko, were armed with placards bearing different inscriptions while storming the Delta State Government House, Asaba, the capital, to register their grievances. The women, who accused Nwoko of promoting the insecurity in the town, disclosed that their husbands, sons and relatives were being incarcerated in Abuja on the orders of the Nigerian billionaire. Panic Grips Delta Community As Body Of Missing Seven-year-old Boy Is Found At Riverbank

Fear has gripped residents of Ughelli community in Delta State following the discovery of the body of a seven-year-old missing child at the Ohovwe River bank in Ekiugbo-Ughelli. Fejiro Emoavworhe whose body was found floating on the river bank on Monday reportedly went missing on Sunday, October 4, 2020 when his whereabouts couldn’t be ascertained by his parents. The incident comes barely two weeks after a middle-aged woman was found dead in a drainage with her breast, tongue and private part removed at Buluku Street in Ughelli. Speaking with our correspondent, father of the seven-year-old boy, John Emoavworhe, disclosed that they had barely stayed four months in the community before the life of his son was taken away by yet to be identified persons.
