The newly-elected President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon, has condemned the #EndSARS movement, aimed at ending police brutality across the country. Asefon, 45, said the #EndSARS protest would not solve the problem of police brutality because the Inspector-General of Police had dissolved the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit. In October, youths across the country took to the streets to condemn  human rights abuses by members of SARS. The protest was later hijacked by hoodlums which led to the loss of lives and property. The Osun State EndSARS Movement has urged protesters not to relent in their demands for good governance, an end to police brutality and other inadequacies of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government. At least two people have been shot dead at the Church of Christ polling station at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East constituency of the Central Region of Ghana in the ongoing general elections. It was learnt that gunshots boomed from a black Toyota Land Cruiser. The targets of the shooters were reportedly driving in a Kia saloon car.
