446 Nigerians imprisoned, 5021 granted amnesty in UAE - Ambassador

Mohammed Rimi, Nigeria’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has revealed that about 446 Nigerians are currently serving different jail terms in the middle-east prison facilities. The ambassador disclosed this at a town-hall meeting between President Buhari and Nigerians in the UAE. According to him, those imprisoned are there for various crimes which include possession of hard drug and engagement in robbery activities, The Guardian reports. “It is disheartening to state that 446 Nigerians are currently serving different terms in prisons across UAE on account of committing various crimes including possession and consumption of hard substance and engagement in armed robbery,” he said. Tension as fuel queues return to Abuja

There is an ongoing fuel panic buying in Nigeria's capital city, Abuja. Premium Times reports that the queues at the fuel stations in the Federal Capital Territory resurfaced on Friday, April 12. The Nigerian Air Force has on Saturday, April 13, destroyed some logistics stores belonging to bandits within Kagara forest in Zamfara state . The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has cautioned the federal government against implementing the recommendation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the removal of subsidy on petroleum products in the country. Police arrest kidnappers of Channels TV reporter

The Nigeria Police Force said it had arrested three suspects in connection with the abduction of Channels Television reporter, Friday Okeregbe. The suspects are: Hanniel Patrick, 29, from Akwa Ibom, Abdulwahab Isah, 28 and Salisu Mohammed, 32 both from Kogi .
