BREAKING: APC Names Former Oyo Governor, Ajimobi, As Acting National Chairman After Court Upheld Oshiomhole's Suspension

The All Progressives Congress has named former Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as its acting National Chairman. APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said it had received the news indicating that the Appeal Court had upheld the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, by an FCT High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit. The statement reads, “Guided by advice from the party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the party’s Acting National Chairman.  “According to Section 14.2. Babatunde Raji Fashola, Nigeria's Minister of Works and Housing, has said he had not made any non-compliant flight out of Abuja since March 22. Fashola made the comments on Tuesday while distancing himself from a letter written by Sam Iwuajoku, Chief Executive Officer of Executive Jets Services Limited, explaining circumstances surrounding a controversial flight, which conveyed musician, Naira Marley, to Abuja from Lagos for a concert in violation of COVID-19 guidelines. Iwuajoku had said he approved the chartered flight after he saw Fashola's name on the manifest.  His company is now suspended indefinitely by the Nigerian Government as a result of the incident. Hakeem Bello, Fashola’s Special Adviser on Communications, in a statement said, “The attention of the Office of the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has been drawn to a letter signed by the Chairman/CEO of Executive Jets Services Limited, Dr Sam Iwuajoku, concerning a flig

Governor of Katsina state, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari Nigerians have urged Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State to honourably resign following his admittance that he has failed to protect the people from bandits and gunmen. The governor admitted to the failure while speaking with journalists in the state capital on Monday. He said, “I don’t know what to tell them. Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, has begged residents in his home state, Katsina, not to protest incessant attacks on their communities by armed bandits. Buhari in a statement signed by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, on Tuesday said protests would mar military operations already underway in the state. Residents in Katsina in recent days have embarked on major protests to demand an end to the killings that have made their lives unbearable. BREAKING: Appeal Court Affirms Oshiomhole’s Suspension As APC Chairman

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress. In a judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Lamido, the three-man panel dismissed Oshiomhole's appeal for lacking in merit. The panel accordingly affirmed the decision of an Abuja High Court, which had in early March ordered the suspension of Oshiomhole as APC National Chairman. A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi had on March 4 ordered the suspension of Oshiomhole.  The judge, Danlami Senchi, gave the order following an application of interlocutory injunction asking the court to suspend Oshiomhole having been suspended as a member of the APC by the party in Edo State.  The application was filed by an applicant, Oluwale Afolabi. While Oshiomhole is the first respondent, the APC is the second respondent. NAFDAC, NIPRD Fails To Give Concrete Explanation On Delay In Approving Madagascar’s Herbal Remedy

More than two weeks after the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, said the COVID-Organics medicine had been handed over to three agencies under his supervision, no timeline had been given to Nigerians as to when an official response would be given on the efficacy of the formula.  SaharaReporters reached out to two of these agencies – National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, and the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development but received no concrete update. “We are still working on it,” the DG of NAFDAC, Mojisola Adeyeye, told SaharaReporters. “I cannot give you an update but we are working on it,” she added.  Mrs Adeyeye had said in a television interview before the drug was sent to NAFDAC that it would take two weeks for the agency to determine if the drug was fit for purpose.  She said the agency would carry out a toxicity test to observe the side effects of the medicine and a microbial examination to note if the ailment the medicine
