BREAKING: Vice President Pence Whisked Away As Pro-Trump Protesters Invade US Congress Session

The US Senate suddenly recessed on Wednesday after protesters incited by President Donald Trump invaded the Capitol. BREAKING: Boko Haram Currently Attacking Yobe Community

Boko Haram terrorists in several gun trucks are presently attacking Geidam community in Yobe State, forcing many residents to flee for safety into nearby bushes. A source told SaharaReporters on Wednesday that the insurgents attacked the community around 6:00pm and began to fire sporadically at anything within sight. Nigerian Government To Start COVID-19 Vaccination Before March Ending

China Blocks WHO Team From Entering Country To Study COVID-19 Origin

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arraigned some officials of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo over the alleged assault and molestation of Don Davis Archibong, a Junior Secondary School 1 student of the school. Kuje Prison Officials Afraid Sowore Will Revolutionise Other Inmates – Agba Jalingo

Journalist and activist, Agba Jalingo, has lambasted the Muhammadu Buhari-led government over the arrest of human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore. According to The PUNCH, Jalingo said Sowore and the other activists locked up since their arrest on New Year’s Eve in Abuja committed no crime for protesting against bad governance. He said the human rights activist was moved from the Kuje prison to police custody on Tuesday because prison officials were afraid he would revolutionise other inmates at the facility. New Electricity Tariff: Government Not Sensitive To Plights Of Nigerians, Says NLC

The Nigeria Labour Congress has said the Nigerian government is insensitive to the plight of Nigerians by increasing the electricity tariff payable by power consumers across the country. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission had on Tuesday approved a new tariff increase, noting that the hike which varies based on different consumer classes, took effect from January 1, 2021. The regulatory agency blamed N2 to N4 adjustment in tariff on inflation and movement in foreign exchange rates. But reacting to the development, Deputy President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, on Wednesday said the NERC disregarded the committee working on the new electricity tariff regime with the announcement on Tuesday. Ajaero, who is also a member of the committee headed by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, said the committee was yet to submit its report before the NERC action. Dr Haroun Hamzat, half-brother of the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has reportedly died from COVID-19 complications. His death was announced in a statement by the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Tuesday. According to the statement, Haroun, who worked in one of the public health centres in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, was aged 37. Many residents of Uba community in the Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State have yet to be accounted for after Boko Haram terrorists attacked the community on Tuesday. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said there is every possibility of another strike as the Nigerian government has yet to fulfil its promises which informed the suspension of the union’s last industrial action. ASUU had suspended its nine months old strike in December albeit with a note of warning that another strike could ensue if the Nigerian government reneges on the agreement it has with the lecturers. On Monday, the union said the government had failed to honour its agreement on payment of the outstanding salaries of members ranging from five to eight months, Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) and check-off dues illegally deducted before December 31, 2020.
