Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has so far won the Niger gubernatorial election in 14 local government areas received at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Minna. The News Agency Agency (NAN) reports that the collation of results was being presided over by Professor Angela Freeman Miro, INEC’s chief collation officer for the governorship election in the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the electoral processes in Rivers state citing widespread irregularities. Suspected political thugs have set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ngor Okpuala local government area of Imo state. Breaking: Kwankwaso loses own local government to Ganduje

Former Kano state governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has reportedly lost his own local government, Madobi, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election. Announcing the result, the governorship election’s Collation Officer, Dr Shehu Usman Yahaya, declared that All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 24,491 votes, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 24,309 and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored 425 votes. Dr Yahaya said total registered voters in the local government were 84,280; accredited votes 50,251; valid votes 49,424; rejected votes 588 and total votes cast 50,012. Two suspected Boko Haram bombers who reportedly targeted St. Pious Catholic Church in Shuwa, Madagali local government area of Adamawa state, have detonated their bombs, according to Sahara Reporters.
