Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai The claim by Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, that the state was using N400,000 to treat a COVID-19 patient has been met with criticism by Nigerians. Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the October 10 governorship election in the state, has attacked his predecessor, Olusegun Mimiko, and incumbent deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, describing them as traitors. Delta State primary school teachers and local government retirees on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest over what they called non-payment of their gratuities and pensions entitlements by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led government. The protesters, who stormed and barricaded the Delta State Government House gate, prevented government officials and visitors from gaining entrance and exit into the facility. Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has asked Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation, to provide evidence of corruption against him. In a letter dated September 4 to the Presidential Panel investigating him, Wahab Shittu, Magu’s counsel, said the appearance of the AGF before the tribunal of Inquiry is to ensure a fair hearing. The panel was mandated to investigate the former EFCC boss after Malami recommended his removal over allegations of corruption in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari. Shittu added in the letter requesting the AGF to be summoned that his client was entitled to being confronted with the allegations against him especially those by Malami, whom he described as his “main accuser”. Police Begin Investigation Into Ondo Toxic Waste Incident, Autopsy Of Victims Awaited

The police in Ondo State have begun investigation into the death of three timber traders, who allegedly died as a result of toxic waste in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.  The victims, Monday Akinmusire, Samuel Louis and Ododolewa Adebowale, were found dead last week Wednesday after inhaling toxic waste dumped inside the forest by a manufacturing company. Speaking on Monday, Chairman of Ondo/Linyi Industrial Hub, Mr Alex Ajipe, said the autopsy of the deceased was being carried out to ascertain the real cause of their deaths.  Ajipe said the company decided to challenge the police to do its job without any bias and sentiment on the investigation into the death of the three men.  He said, “The police have stepped into the case and we are already awaiting the result of the autopsy.  “Although we all appreciate everyone for their concerns, we have also challenged and asked the police to do a thorough investigation of the case and come out with facts.” He explain

Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has said that the government spends about N400,000 to treat a COVID-19 patient in the state. A Nigerian man, Iwe Idorenyin, a doctorate student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, has explained how he was stopped from entering Japan for bearing a Nigerian passport.
