Elias Ozikpu When a suspect pleads guilty upon arraignment before a judge for criminal offence(s), the tedious process of trial is automatically expunged, which allows the judge to make a quick and judicious decision. In the same vein, Governor Ayade has now pleaded guilty to the fact that he has been a monumental failure after five years in office. This open confession is coming after the governor surprisingly turned into a tyrant, arbitrarily jailing critics of his regime for calling out his anti-people policies, pervasive corruption and a total lack of transparency in office. Before dramatically breaking down in “tears”, Ayade said before the world: “I never knew that five years into office as governor I will still find somebody who could live in a thatch house in Cross River State. #EndSARS: Governor Sanwo-Olu Lifts Curfew In Lagos

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, has lifted the curfew imposed on the state following the violence that occurred in the wake of the #EndSARS protests. Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a statement by Commissioner for Information in the state, Gbenga Omotosho. The governor, however, said the 12:00am to 4:00am curfew imposed by the Nigerian Government to curb the spread of COVID-19 remained. Two NSCDC Personnel Die, One Injured In Ondo Road Accident

An auto accident has claimed the lives of two personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ondo State. The personnel were travelling in a space wagon in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state when the accident occurred. Olufemi Omole, spokesperson for the NSCDC in Ondo State, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, said one other officer was critically injured during the accident. Omole explained that the personnel were returning from a burial ceremony when their vehicle veered off the road and somersaulted into a ditch. He said the remains of the two officers had been deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State General Hospital while the injured had been taken to the Trauma Centre. Omole said the surviving officer was still in a critical condition at the hospital and needed prayers to fully recover. #ENDSARS: Police Officer Broke Two Of My Teeth, Man Tells Lagos Judicial Panel

Mr Olajide Fowotade has narrated to the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry how a police officer brutalised and removed two of his upper front teeth. Fowotade, while explaining his encounter with the police, said one officer named Ayo and attached to Ketu Police Division, assaulted him until he became unconscious. He added that after regaining consciousness, he was taken to the police station where the assault and brutalisation continued by the officer. Woman Recounts How SARS Made Her Lose Pregnancy Twice, Extorted Her, Husband Of Over N400,000

Mrs Ndubuisi Obiechina, a resident of Lagos, has recounted how operatives of the now scrapped Special Anti-Robbery Squad made her lose her pregnancy twice while being detained in their custody. She also narrated how SARS officials extorted she and her husband of over N400,000 as bail after 22 days in their detention. Obiechina shared her encounter with the SARS operatives while speaking before the Lagos State Judicial Panel on SARS extrajudicial activities. Speaking before the panel on Saturday, Obiechina said she was called by an unknown person, who later turned out to be a SARS personnel. She said she was picked up at her workplace on the allegatione that she used to be in contact with a suspected kidnapper now at large. BREAKING: Truck Loses Control, Crushes Traders In Ondo Market

A truck conveying some bags of rice on Saturday lost control, crushing several traders and pedestrians at a market in Akungba Akoko area of Ondo State. It was gathered that the driver of the truck lost control of the wheel while descending a hill in the Ikare axis, a commercial hub of the town. An eyewitness, Ado Adebayo, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, said he counted at least four dead bodies at the scene of the accident. He disclosed that victims of the incident were already being moved to the hospital.  “The truck driver lost control of the wheels after his brake failed and rammed into traders and pedestrians at Ibaka Market, killing many of them in the process.  “A woman and two of her children were among those killed by the truck.  “In anger, residents and traders set ablaze the bags of rice,” the eyewitness said.  An officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, said rescue operation was ongoing. 2023: Ohanaeze, Church Leaders To Hold Rallies In Five States For Igbo Presidency

Ohanaeze Ndigbo and some church leaders have fixed December 27 for street rallies to campaign for Igbo presidency in 2023.
