DSS Quizzes Nigerian Musicians, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage Over Alleged Political Utterances Against President Buhari’s Government

Details have emerged on how Nigerian music producer, Michael Ajereh widely known as Don Jazzy, and Tiwatope Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage, were invited by the Department of State Serviced for questioning over alleged political utterances against the administration of President Muhamamdu Buhari.  In recent months, following a sharp rise in sexual assault cases across Nigeria especially against women, Tiwa Savage began a movement known as “WeAreTired” in protest of the situation. Nigeria’s Minister Of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Builds Multi-million Naira Mansion In Katsina With Suspected Public Funds

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has erected a multi-million mansion in his native Katsina. The building, discovered to have been erected within few months, is suspected to have been executed with suspected public funds. Gombe PDP Spokesperson Remanded In Prison For Insulting Governor Yahaya, APC Members

Khalid Mu’azu Izala, the Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe Local Government Area of Gombe State, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly insulting Governor Inuwa Yahaya and some members of the All Progressives Congress. Izala is being detained on the orders of an area court following his arraignment for “defamation of character”. He was arrested on Friday by policemen from Lowcost Division based on the complaint of an APC chieftain, Garba Mohammed Mairago, who accused him of using his Facebook page sometime in 2019 to write defamatory statements against him (Mairago) and some unnamed members of the APC in the state. Two policemen have died while others were left injured in a auto accident involving the convoy of former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, along the Benin bye-pass in Benin, Edo State. The Christian Association of Nigeria has  written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, requesting him to suspend the implementation of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020. Kogi Schools To Reopen September 14

Schools at all levels would reopen on September 14, the Kogi State Government has said. The schools, which where closed to stop the spread of Coronavirus,.will now reopen after evaluating the situation and recording no new cases of COVID-19. Wemi Jones, the state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, on Tuesday said the resumption includes primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state. Nigerian Man, Obinna Ukwuani, Appointed Chief Digital Officer For Bank Of Kigali In Rwanda

Obinna Ukwuani, a Nigerian man, has been appointed to lead digital innovation and growth as Chief Digital Officer for the Bank of Kigali, Rwanda. Ukwuani, a former executive at Paystack, created NESA by Makers, a Lagos-based skill centre that trained people on web development.  He also founded Exposure Robotics Academy in 2011 where STEM programs were taught to secondary school pupils.  The academy coached 113 students in 17 states across Nigeria between 2011 and 2014.  In his new position, which took effect from June, he is expected to lead the Digital Factory Division for product development for the bank, BusinessDay reports. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission on Tuesday announced that it had begun an investigation into the activities of dominant pay television companies in the country.  This was contained in a statement signed by Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Babatunde Irukera.  The commission said the investigation was coming on the heels of complaints from Nigerians over the past 24 months. Gunmen Kidnap Ondo General Hospital CMD, Two Other Medical Workers

Dr Olufemi Adeogun, Chief Medical Director of General Hospital, Idoani, Ondo State, has been kidnapped, SaharaReporters has learnt.  Dr Adeogun was abducted on Monday evening while travelling on the failed portion of Owani-Idoani Road en route Owo Town.  He was seized alongside two other medical workers while on transit for an official engagement.  SaharaReporters gathered that one of the two victims abducted alongside the CMD is Foluke Ajibola, a  record officer in the hospital.  A source, who was travelling on the road a few minutes after the incident occurred, revealed that a driver in the car escaped being kidnapped but was shot by the hoodlums.
