Nigeria Police Are Clueless About Handling Killer Fulani Herders –Evicted Seriki Fulani Of Eggua’s Son

Sulaimon Olooru, first son of the Seriki Fulani of Eggua community in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Adamu Olooru, has said the Nigeria Police are clueless about curtailing the criminal activities of killer Fulani herders across the country. Commuters Cheat Death As Petrol Tanker Falls, Blocks Abuja Highway

A major tragedy was on Monday averted in Abuja along the Abuja-Kefffi Expressway as hundreds of commuters narrowly escaped death when a heavy duty tanker conveying Premium Motor Spirit fell and blocked the entire section of the highway. Ogun Police Kill Four Suspected Smugglers, Injure One To Avert Arson Attack On Their Station

No fewer than four people have been allegedly killed by the police during a shoot-out with suspected smugglers in Igbogila community in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. One person was said to have sustained gunshot wounds.  The violence, which began on Thursday and went on till Sunday has thrown the residents of the community into a state panic as the hoodlums have threatened to retaliate the deaths of their gang members. Another group of youths in Lagos State have announced plans to organise a counter-protest at the Lekki tollgate on Saturday, February 13. This is coming a few hours after some youths took to Twitter to call for a protest against the reopening of the Lekki tollgate. In a statement issued earlier on Monday, the BUA group had announced that it would purchase one million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, through the AfreximBank vaccine programme in partnership with private sector CACOVID. Nigeria’s naira fell on Monday as the local spot currency market struggled with a scarcity of US dollars, traders said. One dealer at a top-tier Nigerian bank quoted the naira at 395-402 per dollar in the over-the-counter market from 392-394 naira in the previous session. Others quoted the naira at 397.21 to the dollar. Traders said few deals were executed between banks as rising demand for dollars from importers and foreign investors seeking to repatriate funds piled pressure on the naira, Reuters report. Nigeria’s currency has been losing ground on spot and derivatives markets, mirroring weakness on the black market, where it trades more freely.
