BREAKING: Fela's Ex-drummer, Tony Allen, Dies In France

Former drummer, composer and songwriter of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Tony Allen, has passed away.  Allen died in Paris, France, on Thursday.  He was born in Lagos in 1940 and was regarded as one of the founders of Afrobeat.  Fela once stated that, "Without Tony Allen, there would be no Afrobeat." Imo Police Deny Duncan Mighty Kidnap News, Say Musician Was Arrested For Fraud

  The police in Imo State has debunked the news that musician, Duncan Okechukwu popularly known as Duncan Mighty, was kidnapped. In a post on Instagram, Duncan Mighty’s friend and billionaire club-owner, Cubana Chief Priest, had said, “He was beaten and abducted by the gunmen amid gunshots.” But denying that claim, the police in Imo in a statement on Saturday by its spokesperson, Ikeokwu Godson, said the artiste was in fact arrested for fraud and was not kidnapped by anyone. Nigerian Musician Dammy Krane To Be Arraigned Monday, Risks 3 Years' Imprisonment

  Nigerian musician, Johnson Oyindamola, aka Dammy Krane, risks three years in jail as the Zone 2 Police Command is set to arraign him on Monday, Punch reports. According to the newspaper, Dammy Krane will be arraigned on three counts before an Igbosere magistrate's court in Lagos bordering on a threat to life, defamation, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The musician was accused of threat to the life of Merrybet Gold Limited employees on July 25, 2019, and also released a song in which he also made an allegation of the firm of breach of contract. The act is said to be in contravention of sections 301, 412 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.   The All Africa Music Awards on Wednesday unveiled Tiwa Savage, Davido, Burna Boy, Simi, Wizkid, Kizz Daniel, Teni, Yemi Alade, Niniola along other international artistes nominated for 2019 edition of the prestigious award. This was announced by AFRIMA’s Associate Producer, Aderele Niyi, at a briefing with journalists in Lagos. Lagos Nude Dance: We’re Going To Use Tekno As Scapegoat ⎯ Nigerian Government

Tekno Tekno instagram The Federal Government has said it will make a scapegoat out of hip hop star, Augustine Kelechi popularly known as Tekno, for promoting nudity in public space. The announcement follows scenes of four nude women dancing in a moving van on the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge in Lagos during a video shoot by the musician. The artiste, in the four-minute video, was seen throwing money perceived to be dollars at the nude women. Police Invite Tekno For Questioning Over Public Nudity

Tekno Tekno instagram   The Lagos State Police Command has invited Augustine Kelechi popularly known as Tekno for questioning over public display of nudity. The musician was sighted at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, on Tuesday. The video of scantily dressed ladies dancing in a glass truck while Tekno sprayed them with different denominations of naira notes went viral on the social media over the weekend, forcing the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency to suspend the licence of advertising firm, Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited, that owns the van.
