Resumption Of Domestic Flight Operations On June 21 No Longer Feasible —PTF

Musa Nuhu, Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, has said that the proposed June 21 date for resumption of domestic flights was no longer feasible. Recall that the Nigerian Government on June 1 announced that it was putting protocols in place to ensure the commencement of domestic flight operations on June 21. Speaking at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 daily briefing on Thursday, Nuhu said June 21 was no longer a great time to resume operations. He said, “June 21 is not a feasible date to resume domestic operations.  “The civil aviation authority despite pressures coming from all quarters will not approve the start any day until we are sure and we confirm that we are ready to start in a safe, secure, organised and efficient manner. BREAKING: Ajimobi Alive, Family Says As Ex-Oyo Governor Slips Into Coma Due To Coronavirus Complications

A former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has slipped into coma as a result of Coronavirus complications. Ajimobi has been in Intensive Care Unit at First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi , Lagos, since he was rushed to the place few weeks ago after it emerged he had the virus. The former governor first slipped into coma on June 8 but was revived and stabilised by doctors until Thursday when he again went totally unconscious. A family source, who confirmed the news to SaharaReporters on Thursday night, said, "Ajimobi is alive. He only slipped into coma. We are praying to God for his revival." Bolaji Tunji, media aide to the former governor, in social media posts also confirmed that Ajimobi was alive, urging Nigerians to pray for his recovery. N700m Fraud: Court Adjourns Case Against Edo APC Governorship Aspirant, Ize-Iyamu

Justice M. G. Umar of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has again adjourned the money laundering case instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, All Progressives Congress aspirant for the 2020 Edo State governorship election. Ize-Iyamu is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside Lucky Imasuen, former deputy governor of Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih, PDP Chairman in Edo State; Tony Aziegbemi and Efe Erimuoghae. The judge adjourned the case after one of the counsels challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the case.  At Thursday’s sitting, prosecution counsel, Francis Jibro, told the court that the matter was for ruling on the competence of the eight-count charge preferred against the defendants. The presiding Judge, Justice M. G. Umar said that the charges filed by the commission against the defendants were not defective.
