Abuja, Lagos consular office would be open for visa appointments - US embassy assures Nigerians

The United States of America embassy has said that its Abuja and Lagos consulate general offices would remain open despite a government shutdown. The embassy said that all consular businesses including visa appointments and interviews will take place at these offices. The US further advised those you already had appointments or scheduled interview to attend their in the consulate offices. Police trying to force their way into my home - Senator Melaye raises the alarm

Senator Dino Melaye has raised the alarm over an alleged police attempt to break into his Abuja house to forcefully arrest him. The senator representing Kogi West made the accusation on Wednesday, January 2 in a tweet on his Twitter handle. He alleged that the police were bringing in tools which would be used to forcefully gain entrance into his home and arrest him after days of laying siege to his property in Maitama area of Abuja, the nation's capital city.
