Nigerian Army Denies Secret Murder Of Six Soldiers, Silent on Their Whereabouts

The Nigerian Army has described as false, a report that it secretly tried and executed six soldiers in Abuja who were of the South-East extraction and found to have committed an infraction. The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Sagir Musa, in his characteristic manner, labelled the media reports on the incident as “fake news and mischievous publication” but failed to give details of the whereabouts of the soldiers and what truly transpired. A coalition of human rights activists from South-East had alleged in a press statement on Tuesday that the six soldiers were denied legal representation, before their execution, after a hasty secret trial. The soldiers were said to have been attached to the Armoury Department of the Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, otherwise known as Abacha Barracks, Abuja. The activists gave the names of those allegedly executed as Prince Ukwuoma, son of a traditional ruler; Ebube Isaiah, Amos Azubuike, Ekene Ebere, Moses Anyim and Godwin Uchendu.

Treat Gunshot Patients, Accident Victims Without Police Report — Lagos CP Tells Doctors

Lagos CP Hakeem Odumosu. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has urged members of the Nigerian Medical Association to always treat patients with gunshot wounds or accident victims without police report.  In a meeting with the Lagos chapter of the NMA on Tuesday, the police commissioner also promised to mobilise policemen to contribute to the fight against quackery in the medical line in the state.  Lagos CP, Hakeem Odumosu. Woman Assaulted By Police Officers During Lockdown Awarded N5m In Damages

A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has awarded N5 million in damages against the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police over the assault of a woman, Tola Azeez, in Osun State. A video of the officers assaulting the young lady went viral during the lockdown in April 2020. In the video, Azeez was walking around Odo Ori Market in Iwo, to buy a drug for a relation when the officers who were enforcing the lockdown, descended on her, and flogged her mercilessly with whips. The state police command had reportedly identified and arrested the erring officers, an inspector, Ikuesan Taiwo and Abass Ibrahim, a corporal. Nigerian Government Is Guilty Of Aiding Killer Fulani Herdsmen To Commit Crimes — Tunde Bakare

Tunde Bakare The Senior Pastor of The Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, says the Nigerian government is guilty of aiding the Fulani herdsmen committing crimes across the country. An activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has described the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as Fulani slaves.
