A woman, Bilikis Aina Erinle, has accused her ex-husband, Adesina Lateef Adeola, of coming with miscreants to take their kids from her custody while she was taking them to school last Tuesday. Erinle also said that her car and mobile phone were taken away from her during the assaults allegedly perpetrated by Ademola and his heavily armed thugs. She told SaharaReporters on Monday as she narrated her ordeal in the hands of the father of her kids and his family. “I went to drop off my kids on the 26th of January at their school, Spring of Life School at Lakowe,” she said. “The father of my kids just bombarded me with heavily armed thugs. About four thugs approached and overpowered me. They took my kids from me. As I was trying to take pictures and also record what was going on, he ordered them to seize my phone so that I couldn’t call anyone. “Right now, my kids – Faozy Adeshina Ademola and Jassim Adeola Adeola – are missing. I believe they are with him. They are both boys of

High Court Judge Discovers He’s Not Biological Father Of Three Kids After DNA Test

A judge of the Delta State High Court, Anthony Okorodas, has cried out after he allegedly discovered that three children he had with his ex-wife were not his biological offspring. According to the judge in the statement, his former wife, Celia Juliet Ototo, walked away from the marriage when the youngest child, now 17 years old, was just six. He said he was first notified of the paternity fraud by an anonymous source, saying the repulsive act of Celia prompted him to conduct DNA tests on all his children. Okorodu described the development as traumatic, saying he and his current wife had been wholly responsible for the well-being and education of the three children, two of whom are university undergraduates, since their mother walked away 11 years ago. The statement read in full, “I have taken the decision to address the press in respect of certain traumatic developments that have arisen between me and my ex-wife, Barrister Celia Juliet Ototo, of the Ototo Family of Ovom in Y

The Evils Of Technical Justice By Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN

Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa It was supposed to be a smooth ride into and out of the court, for the Plaintiffs, but they got more than what they bargained for, from the judiciary, after so many years of traveling round the hierarchy of the courts, to get justice. This has become the lot of litigants and their lawyers, who daily contend with the frustrating factors hindering the due and effective administration of justice in Nigeria.  Let me share with you the intriguing facts of the case of Boniface Ebere Okezie & 3 Ors. v. Central Bank of Nigeria & 5 Ors. (2020) 15 NWLR (Pt.1747) 181. So it started on one fateful day on 14th August, 2009, when Mallam Lamido Sanusi, then Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, issued an order, removing all the executive directors of Union Bank of Nigeria, UBN, and thereafter appointed Mrs. Funke Osibodu and others, to replace them. About N120-Billion was then injected into the UBN, on the grounds that it was weak, undercapitalized and/or insolve

Nigeria: Insecurity Will Begin To End Via The Constitutional Force Majeure By Ndidi Uwechue

The day after Nigeria became a Disputed Project with the proclamation of a Constitutional Force Majeure (more on this later), the influential USA House of Representatives non-partisan Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission held an important hearing on “Conflict and Killings in Nigeria’s Middle Belt”. The hearing lasted for nearly four hours and a recording is available on the internet. The list of witnesses to this hearing is quite impressive and included R.H. Baroness Cox, UK Member of Parliament and Co-Chair, All-Party Parliamentary Group for Freedom of Religion and Thought, Ms Annigje (Ann) Buwalda, Executive Director, Jubilee Campaign USA, plus H.E. William Avenya, Bishop of Gboko, Nigeria. The long and short of it is that this hearing provided evidence that Nigeria has very severe security and human rights challenges, has no effective civilian security, no effective police protection, and terrorists appear to enjoy freedom of movement. All this meaning that organised criminals ar
