Fire Guts Sunday Igboho’s House In Ibadan

One of the houses of Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, has been set ablaze in Ibadan, Oyo State. SaharaReporters gathered that his house was set ablaze on Tuesday morning. A source close to Igboho who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on phone said two structures in his compound were razed. He said; “I have called my boss but he didn’t answer his phone. I called his Chief Security Officer and he confirmed the development to me. This is unfortunate and terrible.” Igboho had given a seven-day ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to leave the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, blaming them for the insecurity there.  Last week, shortly after Igboho’s visit to Igangan community in the state, the house and cars of the Seriki Fulani of Igangan, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, was burnt by some youths.  The Seriki said he and his family members had to trek from Oyo State to Ogun State, taking bush paths.  See Also Politics We Didn’t Burn Seriki Fulani’s Property, T

Cattle Breeders Leave Ondo Forest Reserves As Government Begins Registration Of Herdsmen

It was gathered that herdsmen had started leaving the Ondo forest reserves in deference to the state government’s order, backed by governors’ forum and the Miyetti Allah at their meeting Monday. The NGF and the cattle breeders’ meeting was after a seven-day ultimatum given to the herders to quit the forest reserve. On Monday last week, the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) issued herdsmen to vacate the state’s forest reserves. New COVID-19 Strain Now In Nigeria — PTF

Boss Mustapha The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has said B117 strain of COVID-19 has been recorded in Nigeria. Chairman of PTF on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, stated this during the task force briefing on Monday. Boss Mustapha Mustapha said four persons had been diagnosed with the B117 strain in Nigeria. Of the four persons, three are travellers from Nigeria to other places while the fourth person was discovered in-country, Punch reports. He said, “Over the last few weeks, the PTF has been closely following the rising number of infections reported daily in Nigeria and other jurisdictions. Similarly, our scientists have been sequencing the variants of the virus. “There have been reports of cases with the B117 variant strain, first reported in the UK, found in Nigeria. Eight Men Raped My Niece, Police Say It’s Not True, Woman Says

70-year-old Woman Killed, Scores Injured As Cult Members Clash In Ibadan
