No fewer than seven persons were killed during a reprisal on Nono and Gura Namaye communities in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State by bandits. Several persons were also said to have sustained injuries in the attack and are currently receiving treatment in different hospitals in the state. SaharaReporters gathered that the reprisal followed the killing of two Fulani herdsmen by local vigilante group, popularly known as Yansakai in Maradun.  Following their killing, scores of bandits were said to have launched an attack on the two communities, killing seven persons and injuring others. Yoruba freedom fighter and activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has hailed Yoruba leaders for backing his fight against insurgency in the region. Igboho said he is particularly happy that the leaders are making comments at such a critical time when the security of the region has come under threat. Troops under the auspices of Operation Thunder Strike on Saturday conducted a joint ground and air patrols to Chikwale village, along the Polewire-Mangoro-Sarkin Pawa Road in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State as military jets killed several bandits during the operation. The fighter jets conducted further missions in quick succession, as the bandits were tracked accordingly.
