Man Detained Over Death Of Teenager During Sex Romp In Yobe Government Lodge

 An employee of the Ministry of Police Affairs, simply identified as Albash, has been arrested over the death of an 18-year-old girl, who died during a sex romp in the Yobe state government lodge in Damaturu, the state capital, on January 6. Albash, the chief suspect, was arrested alongside four others who are presently detained in the state CID. The spokesman for the state police command, Abdulkareem Dungus, said the suspect confessed that the lady was brought to him by his friends on January 6 in the Government Lodge in Damaturu. Six Nigerian Soldiers Killed In B’Haram Ambush In Yobe

Nigerian troops killed Twenty-six Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday, hours after the terrorists killed at least six soldiers in an ambush in Yobe State. But military authorities in Yobe said one soldier was killed and another one injured. Credible sources said the soldiers were on their way for an induction ahead of their deployment to the North East’s battlefields when the terrorists laid siege on the highway. One of the sources said six soldiers died at the ambush spot, and many others were injured. “The terrorists attacked our troops who were heading towards Buni Yadi and then retreated towards the dreaded Alagarno village,” he told DailyTrust. On Tuesday, the Academic Staff Union of Universities insisted Nigerian universities are not ready to re-open in the middle of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The National Universities Commission (NUC) had earlier directed universities to resume academic activities on January 18. The Kano State Hisbah Board has said the sale, consumption and possession of alcoholic substances are prohibited in the state though not made illegal by the Nigerian Constitution. In an interview with SaharaReporters on Monday, Assistant Commander of Kano Hisbah, Nabahani Usman, said Section 100 of the Nigerian constitution confers on each state the powers to enact laws ‘that will suit their purpose and interest’. He said the law is binding on anyone whether Muslims or non-Muslims, as long as the person stays in Kano State. He added, “Kano State Penal code 2004 prohibits the sale and distribution of all alcoholic substances in the state.
