Nigerian Man, Akeredolu Olajide Arrested In India For Duping Broker

On Wednesday, the VP Road police arrested a 48-year-old Nigerian national from New Delhi for allegedly duping a diamond broker from south Mumbai of Rs 1.16 crore, IndiaExpress reports. The police said the accused, Akeredolu Joseph Olajide, is part of the larger group that creates fake accounts on social media, approaches people through these accounts and then dupes them under the pretext of sending gifts. The gang approached the diamond broker, a resident of Girgaon who has an office at Bharat Diamond Bourse in BKC, on Instagram on October 10, last year. The profile was created under the name of a woman, Alex Zendra, said police. Heroin A 26-year-old Nigerian was arrested on Thursday with seven kilograms of heroin, which was bought from Delhi and was supposed to be delivered to one of the city’s pubs, said the police on Friday. The suspect has been identified as one Bethel Kelechi Aroh of Lagos, Nigeria. Nigerian, Three Nepalese Involved In Romance Scam Held In India

Five men, including three from Nepal and one from Nigeria, were arrested on Friday for allegedly cheating a woman in southwest Delhi Kishangarh area. The accused have been identified as Prakash Gurung (24), Paras Mehto (25), Ankit (20), all residents of Nepal, and Vinay Kumar (25), a resident of Bihar and Chijioke (37), a resident of Nigeria, they said. Police received a complaint where the woman alleged that she met a man named Dr Vijay Giri in one of the online dating apps. They became friends and started chatting on Whatsapp. Giri claimed that he is a US citizen based in the UK and wanted to meet her, the woman alleged. Around ten months later, she received a call from Giri who told her that he had landed in Mumbai and is stuck with customs officials for carrying foreign currency and extra luggage and needed money to pay the fine and bribe, a senior police officer said. Two suspected remand prisoners in the Abokobi-Ayimensah Police’s custody in the Ga East District of the Greater Accra Region broke out of jail on New Year’s Day. Residents Narrate How Kidnappers Den Was Discovered In Lagos, Police Begin Investigation

The police have begun an investigation into the discovery of a tunnel in Orile area of Lagos State, allegedly to be used by ritualists.  The news went around the densely-populated Orile and its environs on Wednesday that dismembered human parts discovered inside the School Bus Stop tunnel. Two persons, alleged to be ritualists, were said to have been found with human parts.
