#EndSARS: I’m Disgusted With CNN, BBC’s Coverage, Says Buhari

President Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said the foreign press coverage of the recent #EndSARS violence was not balanced, citing specifically the Cable News Network and the British Broadcasting Corporation. Since the second week of October, youths across the country led the #EndSARS protests which were peaceful gatherings to protest against police brutality and bad governance until October 20, 2020, when the Nigerian Army dispersed #EndSARS protesters with gunshots at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos. President Buhari In a report on the incident, CNN alleged that soldiers used live bullets on the protesters, but the army has repeatedly denied this allegation, claiming it only fired blank shots into the air. ISWAP Fighters Kill 10 Soldiers, Take One Hostage In Borno

ISWAP Soldiers Islamic State-linked Jihadists have killed 10 Nigerian soldiers while they took one as a hostage at a fierce battle in Borno State on Monday, as confirmed by two security sources. The gunbattle occurred when a team of soldiers invaded a camp of the Islamic State West Africa Province in Alagarno village in Damboa district. ISWAP Soldiers “We lost ten soldiers in the fight, and the terrorists took one,” a security source told AFP on Tuesday. The hostage was seized while fleeing to safety after the troops were outgunned, he said. “It was an intense battle, and the terrorists also suffered casualties, but they were able to overwhelm the soldiers,” said a second security source who confirmed the toll. Local media report that Mahama’s party, NDC, alleged that the incumbent had been using “the military to overturn results.” John Mahama Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday night, the NDC candidate warned that no attempt should be made to steal the election which is the West African nation’s eighth consecutive poll since it returned to democracy decades ago.
