We’re Still Consulting, No Agreement Yet to Suspend Strike – ASUU President

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has said the union is still consulting on what its reply will be to the offers the Federal Government made for it to end its eight-month-old strike. Gridlock As Tanker Catches Fire On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A fuel tanker on Wednesday morning caught fire at the Magboro section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The incident, which happened around 06 am, caused gridlock at Magboro, outward Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Punchng The PUNCH gathered that firefighters have arrived at the scene of the fire outbreak. It was also learnt that the fuel being conveyed by the tanker had spilled to the other side of the expressway – leading inward to Lagos. Many Residents Killed By B’Haram For Volunteering Information To Military – Borno

10 Pregnant Girls, Kids Rescued In Ogun Baby Factory

Operatives of Ogun Police Command, on Tuesday, busted a baby factory at Ofada, Mowe, Obafemi-Owode LGA and rescued ten captives, including pregnant mothers and kids. The operator of the factory, Mrs Florence Ogbonna, reportedly fled but her daughter and a physically challenged man were arrested. The physically challenged man was allegedly responsible for impregnating the young girls, and after delivery, Mrs Ogbonna sold their babies. The woman, now on the run, who was arrested for a similar offence, is standing trial for human trafficking. The young expectant mothers, aged 18 to 24 years, were transported from Imo, Abia and Ebonyi states with a promise of securing employment for them but later lured into the illicit trade.
