Tension In Abuja As #ENDSARS Protesters Block Berger Roundabout

Angry Nigerians protesting the extrajuducial killings by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigeria Police on Monday in Abuja blocked the popular Berger Roundabout, leading to traffic gridlock in the nation’s capital. The protesters barricaded all roads leading to the popular roundabout, preventing vehicular movement in the area. Nigerian musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, had on Sunday night agreed to meet with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters Abuja, to discuss the situation. But there was a change of plan when the protesters met another rival group protesting in solidarity with President Muhammadu Buhari and Inspector-General of Police near the facility. Residents Desert Delta Community After Armed Vigilante Group Unleash Mayhem

Delta State Map Residents of Evwreni community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State have deserted their homes after being terrorised by a disbanded armed vigilante group known as “Bakassi Boys” in the area. The crisis, which occurred on Saturday evening, SaharaReporters reliably learnt, led to the shooting of a former President-General of the community, Victor Ohare, and a yet to be identified soldier as well as burning of houses and cars.  Delta State Map Crisis had engulfed the community since June this year following the disbandment of the local security outfit alleged to be working for the monarch of the town, Oghenekwevwe Kumane, and a former lawmaker, Sam Mariere. UPDATE: Police Restrict Lawyers From Seeing Protesters Arrested In Surulere

The police officers in Area C, Surulere, Lagos, have reportedly barred lawyers from gaining access to three of the protesters arrested in the area. The protesters, calling for the reform of police, were attacked by officers, leading to the death of two of them while three were arrested. The three protesters arrested were identified as Ademola Ojabodu aka Ojah B, Treasure and Felicia Okpara. They were dragged on the floor and brutalised by the police before taken inside the station. The police had hurriedly claimed that the protesters launched the initial attack on them. Lagos Police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, claimed that the protesters “broke into the office by damaging some of the windows and broke into the cell before they were repelled”. Governor Seyi Makinde Bars Police From Engaging Protesters In Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde has barred the Oyo State Police Command from engaging peaceful protesters in the state. The directive from the government came following multiple attacks on youths calling for an end to police brutality in Nigeria, leaving three people dead and many injured.
