Scores of anti-corruption activists are currently demonstrating in front of the Department of State Services office in Kaduna State in solidarity with Muhammad Mahdi Shehu, a businessman who petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged multi-billion naira fraud by the Katsina State Government. BREAKING: Displaced Persons Protest In Borno Community Over Hunger, Destroy Cars, Others

Some internally displaced persons in Banki area of Bama Local Government Area in Borno State on Monday embarked on a protest over failure of the authorities to supply them with food items. The affected persons, who say they have been left to deal with severe hunger, destroyed cars and other valuables around the community to drive home their frustration as they demonstrated on Monday. Granting Amnesty To Boko Haram Terrorists Cannot Bring Peace, Says Senator Ndume

Ali Ndume Senator Ali Ndume, lawmaker representing Borno-South at the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, has again kicked against the amnesty granted to Boko Haram members.   Senator Ndume made the declaration while speaking with newsmen at the weekend in Abuja. Rights Lawyer Threatens To Sue EFCC Over Parade Of Suspects Before Conviction

Tope Akinyode, a Nigerian rights lawyer, has threatened to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for parading members of the public arrested on suspicion of financial impropriety.  The EFCC currently parades suspect of alleged crimes before charging them to court.  The anti-graft agency does not, however, parade many high profile politicians arrested on suspicion of fraud and misappropriation of public funds. Akinyode on Sunday described the parade, which usually sees suspects holding placards while they are photographed by the press as illegal and overreaching with no legitimacy in the Nigerian judiciary. Fulani Herdsmen Invade Southern Kaduna Village, Burn Two Persons To Death, Destroy Crops

File Photo Armed Fulani herdsmen have invaded another village in the Christian-dominated Southern Kaduna axis of Kaduna State, burning two persons to death in their homes. Cecilia Ishaya, a 62-year-old widow and mother of six children, was set ablaze in her home alongside Iliya Sunday, a 56-year-old man, who was also burnt alive in his residence. He is survived by eight children.
