Ondo PDP Candidate, Jegede, Decries Incessant Kidnapping In State, Calls For Improved Security

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo, Eyitayo Jegede, has called for improved security in the state in the face of rising kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state. Jegede, who spoke on Tuesday at Ikakumo in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state, said security agencies needed to work with local residents to nib in the bud the activities of kidnappers in the Akoko region.  Although he explained that the PDP if elected into government, had already mapped out a strategy that would help put an end to the activities of criminals, who always infiltrate the state through the Akoko axis. Garba Shehu Defends Increase In Petrol Price By Buhari, Says Product Sold For N600 Per Litre Under PDP Government

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, has defended the recent increase in petroleum pump price by the Nigerian Government amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Nigerians including the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, and Nigeria Labour Congress have condemned the action of the government. Southern-Kaduna Christian Leaders Boycott Peace Summit

A peace summit organized in Kafanchan to find an end to the conflict in Southern Kaduna suffered setbacks as Christian leaders in the area, who doubted the genuineness of the occasion, boycotted the summit.  Nevertheless, the peace summit still went on as scheduled with over 100 participants across religious faith, Vanguard reports. The Kaduna chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Christian leaders from the Southern part of Kaduna and the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, was earlier scheduled to attend the peace summit in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday.  Friends of Southern Kaduna in collaboration with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission organized the summit as part of efforts to find a lasting solution to the killings in Southern Kaduna.  Explaining why they did not attend the Summit, Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association, said they boycotted because some “key stakeholders” were left out. Bandits Attack Zamfara Community, Kill One, Kidnap Two

Some bandits have attacked Nahuche village of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State and shot dead one. It was learnt that the bandits stormed the village around 2.36 am on Sunday and ransacked houses in the community.
