Adeboye Told Me I Would Be Re-elected –Obaseki

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, said he visited the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, during his second-term election travails. According to the governor, he said the 78-year-old cleric assured him that all would be well. Obaseki stated this on Friday night during the Testimony Session at this year’s RCCG Holy Ghost Congress held at the Church’s International Headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. COVID-19: Again, El-Rufai Goes Into Isolation

Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has gone into isolation. The governor, who stated this on Saturday in a broadcast, said the measure was necessary as family members and senior government officials around him tested positive for COVID-19. Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai El-Rufai said he is in self-isolation as a precaution pending a COVID-19 test to be conducted on Sunday. The governor had earlier tested positive for the virus in March but recovered after some weeks. Other governors who had tested positive for the infection and had recovered include Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, amongst others. Court Jails 22-Year-Old “Yahoo Boy” In Oyo Over $1700 Fraud

A Federal High Court in Ibadan has on Friday sentenced an Internet fraudster, Ibrahim Tunde Akinsola, to one-year imprisonment for internet scam.  Justice Patricia Ajoku in his ruling at Adeoyo Ring Road in Ibadan, also ruled that Tunde Akinsola should pay the sum of $1,700 (One Thousand and Seven Hundred American Dollars) to his victim, Richard Wilson. The judge also pronounced that the convict forfeited his iPhone 7 Plus mobile phone to the Nigerian government.  Akinsola, 22, was prosecuted by the Ibadan Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on an amended one-count charge of fraudulent impersonation.  “This judgment is in line with the provisions of Section 270 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 that provides for a reduced sentence for anyone who enters a plea bargain agreement,” Ajoku pronounced. “Consequently, Tunde Akinsola is sentenced to 12 months in prison for the crime. “The sentence starts from the date he was first arreste

Court Jails Ex-Enugu Poly Rector For Defrauding Students

Isidore Ojukwu Nwankwo Justice N.I. Buba of the Federal High Court, Enugu on Thursday sentenced a former Rector of the Enugu Polytechnic, Ndeabor, Dr Isidore Ojukwu Nwankwo, to one year in prison for N1.1 million fraud committed against some students. The court sentenced Nwankwo to one year in prison following his prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
