Pelumi Onifade A 20-year-old Lagos-based journalist, Pelumi Onifade, was recently shot dead in the custody of the Lagos State Task Force led by Yinka Egbeyemi, SaharaReporters has gathered. Pelumi, who was working with Gboa TV, was arrested by policemen at Abattoir, Oko Oba area of Agege, on October 24 while on official duty and whisked away. Pensioners in Cross River State have taken to the streets to protest the non-payment of their benefits to them by the state government since 2014. Amotekun Arrests Six Persons, Recovers Looted Police Cardigans, Boots, Riffles In Ondo

The Amotekun Corps on Monday said it had recovered some items belonging to the police, which were looted by thugs, who unleashed violence after the #EndSARS protest in the state. Mr Adetunji Adeleye, Commandant of the security agency in Ondo State, made the disclosure in Akure, the capital, after arresting six suspects in connection with the looting. Adeleye listed the looted items retrieved from the suspects to include police cardigans, boots, riffles and motorcycles. He explained that the suspects were also linked with the arson on police stations in the state, noting that they had allegedly confessed to the crime. Nigerian Government Arraigns Seven Persons In Court Over Alleged Involvement In Killings In Delta State

The Nigerian Government has arraigned seven persons on a three-count amended criminal charge alleged to have been involved in the 2017 killing of indigenes of Idumuje-Ugboko community under Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. The seven accused persons were arraigned before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja. All accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN). The initial charge had involved three persons but following a bench warrant issued by the court, four additional defendants were arrested and added to the charge. The seven defendants were said to have connived with others in May 2017 to unleash terror on the community by burning houses and killing one Cyprian Kumaorun in the town. The defendants were identified as Nwochie Light, Aikhomo Omezi, Okey Ifejoku, Godwin Aniemeke, Nonso Omefe, Dennis Nwoko and Emeka Bidok
