Nigerian Man Arrested In India For Duping People On Linkedin, Facebook

Indian Police A 32-year-old Nigerian national was arrested for allegedly duping a man of Rs 44.25 lakh by posing as an executive of a Tokyo-based pharmaceutical company selling herbal seeds, police said on Sunday. The accused was identified as Okeleve Frankline Chibundom, who was staying in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area. He along with his live-in partner duped several people after approaching them on social media, they said. Chibundom’s activities came to police’s notice after a resident of south east Delhi’s Sarita Vihar made a complaint against the accused in February this year, Republicworld.com reports. According to the complainant, on November 29 last year, one Takeshi Mochida, posing as an executive of a Tokyo-based pharmaceutical firm, contacted him through LinkedIn regarding the supply of 10,000 packets of a herbal seed for medical purposes. COVID-19: Women With Disabilities Lament Exclusion From Palliatives Distribution

File Photo Women with disabilities across Nigeria have lamented their exclusion from intervention programmes by governments meant to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. The women, who spoke in a virtual meeting organized by BONews Service with support from Urgent Action Fund-Africa, said the government had neglected them. They also complained that they had been ignored in designing interventions regarding issues that affect them the most. The Acting Director of Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Benard Onyeuko made this known at a press briefing at the Special Army Super Camp in Faskari, Katsina, News Agency of Nigeria reports. Onyeuko noted that the Chief of Army Staff flagged-off the campaign on July 6 to root out armed bandits, cattle rustlers, kidnappers and other criminal elements from the North-West.
