CHAPTER ONE     INTRODUCTION    Background of the Study Education is the process of learning to live as a useful and acceptable member of the community and a good citizen (Ferranti, 1993). The school has been established as the agent of the society to mound the habits, interest, attitudes and feelings of children and transmit the societal norms, culture, values and traditions from one generation to another.
