Man United plotting a mega money move for Napoli superstar who is also wanted by Chelsea

- Kalidou Koulibaly emerges top transfer target for Manchester United this summer

- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to strengthen his defence ahead of competition next term

- Jose Mourinho tried signing the Senegalese last summer but the deal failed to pull through

Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer Napoli an offer they might not be able to reject in a bid to land Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly at the end of this season.

This part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans for the Red Devils as the 2019-20 campaign draws near, while he hopes to be handed the managerial job by the club.

The Norwegian arrived at Old Trafford in December and has transformed the mentality and performances of the players despite a poor start to the season.

They are also in contention for top four finish while qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals at the expense of Paris Saint Germain.

Solskjaer is however not leaving anything to chance as he wants to strengthen his back line with the inclusion of the 27-year-old according to the Mirror quoting La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to have jumped in the chase for the defender, while Premier League side Chelsea, might also be interested.

However, Napoli chief Aurelio de Laurentiis wants about £128 million before allowing his man leave the club.

An amount which would represent a sizeable return on the £6.5 million the club shelled out to bring him in from Genk in 2014.

Koulibaly has been a rock solid defender for his present club and has even created two assists in his last 26 Serie A matches this campaign.

He has been capped 31 times by Senegal, and featured as the team were knocked out in the first round at the World Cup in Russia in 2018.

United are also eyeing England international Harry Maguire, who currently plays for Leicester City.

The defender was a target for Jose Mourinho during his reign at the club but a move to Old Trafford back then was not an option, but he is now believed to make the move.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United are planning a world record fee of £90 million for Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Napoli star has been impressive for the Italian club since he joined them and has attracted interests from a few other Premier League top clubs.

Meanwhile, Red Devils interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was believed to have sent representatives to watch the 27-year-old against Fiorentina last week.
