Arsenal star Alex Iwobi to battle Ahmed Musa, 1 other Super Eagles star for prestigious prize

- Alex Iwobi, Arsenal star, tops three man shortlist for the 2018 edition of the NFF awards

- The Arsenal star has been impressive for the Super Eagles as they return to AFCON championship as Group E leaders

- Musa and Ighalo are the two other stars who complete the list as they contend for the individual prize

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi tops the three man shortlist for the second edition of the NFF football awards staging at the Eko Hotels & Suites on Monday, April 1.

The 22-year-old has been superb for the Gernot Rohr's Super Eagles since the arrival of the German born tactician in late 2016.

He is also one of the key players for Gunners manager, Unai Emery as they are pushing for their first Europa League title this campaign.

Iwobi also played crucial role in Nigeria's return to African Cup of Nations championship this summer - having missed out of the last two editions.

Al Nassr winger, Ahmed Musa and China based Odion Ighalo completes the three man shortlist for the contention of the prestigious prize.

The Shanghai Shenhua striker recently finished as the highest goal scorer during the AFCON 2019 qualifying process - scoring seven goals after six matches.

His contributions helped his national team finish above South Africa on Group E table and head to the African championship group leaders.

Musa was one of Nigeria's stand out performers at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with his stunning goals against Iceland.

Though, the Super Eagles crashed out of the championship at the first round, his brace in their second game gave the fans something to cheer about.

Chelsea on loan star at Fenerbahce, Victor Moses won the maiden edition of the awards, beating Wilfred Ndidi and Anthony Okpotu to the prize.

The winger excelled under Antonio Conte in an alien position, and helped them win one Premier League and one FA Cup titles before being dispatched to Turkey for a long loan spell.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa and Odion Ighalo were shortlisted for the 2018 African player of the year award.

The Super Eagles trio were drawn along with 31 other African stars in pursuit of the individual prize for outstanding performance all through the outgone year.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID. The project is expected to add an extra 8 million tons per annum of gas to the 22 mtpa currently exported by the company. Oil News AddThis :
