The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has described himself as the bridge between Nigeria’s young and old generations.

Legit.ng gathers that Atiku, who is 72-years-old, said he had gained experience to be able to relate with Nigerians of all age groups, as a result of his performance as a public official in the past.

Atiku also took aim at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the latter had not delivered on his promises. He pointed out that the Buhari administration came in on a promise of addressing three serious issues i.e. improving the economy, fighting corruption and containing the Boko Haram insurgency.

According to the former vice president, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed on all three.

He said before the APC came in, "our GDP was six percent. Immediately they came in, our country was plunged into recession.”

Atiku added that Buhari's anti-corruption posturing was a ruse; stating that Nigeria’s corruption perception had not changed since the president came into office.

He also stated that the country's security situation had worsened to include violent crisis in the north-west and central Nigeria.
