Sadiq's departure will pave way for Nigerian-born Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke to Ibrox on loan in January.
Gerrard has lost patience with the Nigerian striker having failed to make his starting XI for the last five months in charge, he has only made five substitute appearances.
Sadiq debunked claims he is bound to return to Italy following his disastrous spell with the Scottish Premier League side.
