EFCC opens trial of ex-NDDC boss, Omatsuli, calls first witness

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday in a Federal High Court opened its case in the trial of a former director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Tuoyo Omatsuli, over alleged N3.6 billion fraud. The anti-graft agency on Nov. 8, 2018, arraigned Omatsuli alongside Don Parker Properties Ltd., Francis Momoh, and Building Associates Ltd. before Justice Saliu Saidu on a 45-count charge bordering on the alleged offence. They each pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted bail. On Wednesday, EFCC Counsel, Ekene Iheanacho, called the first witness for the prosecution, Eyo Bassey, a software developer and contractor. Being led in evidence by Basset, the witness said that he executed contracts for the commission as well as for the Akwa Ibom, Imo and Abia state governments. A Nigerian couple has been given every reason to rejoice this month as they have been blessed with a set of quadruplets after years of waiting. The father of this new bundles of joy is the deputy vice-chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. This has caused even more joy amongst many people. In celebration of this good news, a particular lady who knew the couple personally took to her Facebook page to share her excitement. She also shared the inspiring story of the couple. According to her, the couple had been difficulties conceiving for 12 years after which they had their first child who turned out to be a boy. With no hope of becoming parents again, they took to being contented with the one child they had. FG, states, LGs get N619.8bn revenue for Febraury - Oil producing states receives highest sum

- The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed the sum of N619.857 billion for revenue among three tiers of government - The total revenue is money generated from VAT, excess bank charges, exchange gain, and forex equalisation - It was also gathered that oil producing states would be getting 13% of the total revenue, while local government would get 127.722 billion The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N619.857 billion for revenue among the three tiers of government for the month of February 2019.
