Urgent Memo To Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu By Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa

Your Excellency,

Please sir, I will like to seek your kind clarification on a burning issue on behalf of other Lagosians.

Is Epe still part of Lagos State?

If it is sir, why has the road leading to Epe from Lagos been abandoned?

The toll gate at Admiralty Circle Plaza is meant to service the Eti-Osa/Epe Expressway sir. We have been paying toll on that road since 2011 but it is like hell to travel from Lagos to Epe presently. It used to be a 30-minute journey from Ajah sir but now it is totally a mess.

Please take up this matter and help us with the reconstruction of that road sir, so as to decongest the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and give the people of Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki and Epe, a sense of belonging.

The bulk of the IGR of Lagos State comes from Eti-Osa but it is the local government that is starved of infrastructure in the state.

God bless you for your anticipated prompt response and action sir.

Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN

Lekki, Lagos.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
