Solskjaer names Man United's penalties taker after Pogba's miss in Southampton win

- Manchester United defeated Southampton 3-2 in an epic comeback at Old Trafford

- Pogba missed the chance of making it 4-2 after failing to convert a spot-kick

- United now sit 4th on the standings with 58 points

Manchester United caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has insisted Paul Pogba will still take the club's next penalty despite having one missed in their 3-2 victory over Southampton at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer said he will not be speaking to the French star about his style of taking penalties that involves a slow run-up.

When asked if he would be encouraging Pogba to change his style, the Norwegian said: "I just said to him there - get ready for the next one because you’re going to take that one as well."

"I’ve missed penalties. He’s a confident boy, he wants to go and take the next one. You want that character in boys," he added.

Pogba was handed the chance to add to his goalscoring account at stoppage time with United leading 3-2 thanks to Romelu Lukaku's earlier brace.

However, the midfielder placed the ball straight down the centre of goal which Angus Gunn saved with his feet.

Solskjaer further lauded his side's thrilling comeback, but lamented his wards' lack of class.

"We had character and belief more than quality. We lacked a bit of class, we should have been 2-0 up after five minutes. But we have three points and we are happy," he noted.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
