Despite the reports of violence in some areas of Kano state, the turnout of voters for the March 23 supplementary election has been quite impressive as people trooped out en mass to exercise their civic franchise.
Leadership reports that at the 28 local government areas where the re-run election is taking place, there are massive turnouts, especially in Doguwa, Nasarawa, Rogo, Bichi, and Dala local governments areas.

Although there were occasions of crises in some places like Dallas, security operatives have been able to douse down the tension and watered the embers of brewing violence.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that voters and some journalists covering the supplementary governorship election in Kano state on Saturday, March 23, escaped lynching by some suspected thugs at Suntulma Primary School in Gama ward of Nasarawa local government area of the state.
The journalists, who were in the area to monitor the poll, were chased out of the place by the hoodlums.
