Buhari’s victory for common Nigerians - Official

- Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe said that President Buhari’s victory in the just concluded polls was a victory for the common Nigerians

- Balarabe insisted that it was the common people that voted the most for Buhari

- According to him, the masses have spoken by re-electing Buhari for the second term and for continuity of national development

The Niger commissioner for Works, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe on Saturday, March 2, said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the just concluded polls was a victory for the common Nigerians.

Balarabe, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna, said that it was the common people that voted the most for Buhari.

“I will give the victory to the common people who worked for it and not the bourgeoisie in the society who wanted Buhari out.

“In this particular election the bourgeoisie decided to come together for their selfish interests and the common people on one side for the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria,” he said.

The commissioner said that the masses have spoken by re-electing Buhari for the second term and for continuity of national development.

“The common people of this country have come of age as such they cannot be taken for granted any longer,” he said.

The NAN reports that Buhari polled 15,191,847 to defeat the candidate of the main opposition, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 11,262,972.

Legit.ng had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari said that he would give consideration to women and youths when forming his next cabinet.

The president gave this hint on Saturday, March 2 during a victory dinner organized by the women and youth campaign committee at the Presidential villa in Abuja. President Buhari also humorously said he would give consideration to old people like himself.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
