Denis Suarez is expected to be in Arsenal's first team that will face Manchester City on Sunday, February 2, and Unai Emery has now revealed why he joined the Gunners.

'' Denis Suarez did not join us to change Mesut Ozil from the team.

"Suarez is coming here because we have a lot of problems on the wing, we haven't got players to play right or left - that is the reason,'' Emery explained according to Tribal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League standings with 47 points after 24 games played this season.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Arsenal confirmed the signing of Barcelona star Denis Suarez on a short term loan deal until the end of the Premier League season.

Suarez returned to the Camp Nou in 2016 in a four year deal valued around €3.5 million from Sevilla with an option for extension.

However, having made just six appearances in all competitions this campaign, he decided to seek more playing time away from the club.
