- Raheem Sterling believes Manchester City can beat Liverpool on Thursday, January 4
- A win for Pep Guardiola's men will help them in the race for the Premier League title
- They are currently seven points behind Liverpool who are topping the EPL standings
Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has expressed confidence that his club can beat Premier League leaders Liverpool in Thursday's crucial EPL encounter.
But the Englishman added that this can only be possible if his teammates play to their potential against their unbeaten opponents.
Liverpool are in superb form having thrashed Arsenal 5-1 in their last game, but Sterling fired a warning to his former club.

''If we can play the way we know we can play, we can beat anyone.
‘'It’s going to be a great game on Thursday and we’re all looking forward to it,'' Sterling explained according to Metro.
Manchester City have suffered two costly defeats in the Premier League, and a lose for them against Liverpool could end their chances of retaining their EPL title.
Liverpool are currently topping the Premier League standings with 54 points after 20 games, while Manchester City are placed second with 47 points.
Previously, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made it clear that it will be hard for his wards to retain their Premier League title if they should suffer a defeat against Liverpool in their next tie.
The Etihad landlords have not been finding it rosy this season in the Premier League losing three games and they are occupying second position with seven points behind leaders Liverpool.
On Sunday, December 30, Manchester City defeated Southampton, and Guardiola said that the title race would have been over if his wards had not beaten their last opponents.
