Uganda presidential hopeful, Bobi Wine, has alleged that his phone line and that of his wife were ‘blocked’ and they were unable to receive or make calls. Wine disclosed this in a tweet on Thursday evening. “Like my wife’s, my phone has been blocked and I am unable to recieve or make regular calls. I know this is to stop me from communicating to our agents and coordinators. Gladys Kanu, wife of the late former Lagos State military administrator, Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, has blamed the death of her husband on alleged deceit by a Nigerian hospital. Kanu, a retired Rear Admiral of the Nigerian Navy, who died on Wednesday after a brief illness, was also at a time the military administrator of Imo State. Donald Trump Christopher Stanton Georgia, a United States citizen, has reportedly shot himself dead at his home in Alpharetta after being charged for invading the Capitol. According to UK Daily Mail, the father-of-two was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and died by suicide. Amotekun Dismisses Officer For Killing Young Man In Ibadan

In a statement issued by the security network on Thursday, the state Commandant of Amotekun, Olayanju Olayinka, said the agency was alerted to a purported armed robbery operation at Total Filling Station, Mokola, Ibadan and it deployed a seven-man team to the scene. January 18 Schools’ Resumption Date Stands, Says Nigerian Government

The Nigerian government has said the January 18, 2021 resumption date for schools stands. Ben Goong, Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. Goong said the decision not to alter the date was taken after wide consultation. The statement read, “Sequel to the hint given during the press statement of 12 January, 2021 for the review of the proposed resumption date of 18th January 2021, the Federal Ministry of Education has undertaken a comprehensive appraisal of the situation. “After extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders, including state governors, commissioners of education, proprietors and heads of institutions, staff unions and students, the consensus of opinion is that the resumption date of 18th January should remain, while parents and respective institutions must ensure full compliance with COVID-19 protocols.  “These measures, which are to ensure safe reopening of schools for academic...
