Arrest Of Sowore Dangerous, Unwarranted, Uncalled For – Coalition Of Northern Groups

The Coalition of Northern Groups has joined the growing voices of condemnation of the arrest and detention of human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigeria Police Force on New Year’s Eve. Sokoto Governor, Tambuwal Asks Military Chiefs To Resign Honourably Over Insecurity

The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has asked military chiefs to act honourably by resigning their appointment amid the worsening level of insecurity since President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sack them. He stated further that the Buhari-led Nigerian government should admit failure in the area of security, noting that governing the country and protecting lives and property is not rocket science. Super Eagles forward and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has tested positive for COVID-19 on his return to Italy, his club confirmed on Friday. The 21-year-old Nigeria international, who has been sidelined since November 2020, after dislocating his shoulder while representing Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, returned to his club on Thursday from holiday.
