Hundreds of armed cult members on Monday invaded the commercial office of the telecom giant, MTN, along the DSP Alamieyeseigha Way in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, killing a customer who was alleged to be a rival cult member.  The murdered customer, who was identified as Victor Abasii, was a native of Ogu town in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state. Food crisis may hit Adamawa State, the State Assembly has warned. The lawmakers cautioned against the early sale of grains to merchants from outside the state. Merchants from Enugu, Abia, Kano, Jigawa and other states, were identified as threats to the state’s food security. The House also passed a resolution on Thursday, mandating the state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to impose a high tariff on each trailer load of grains leaving the state. Besides high tariff, the resolution also mandated the governor to set up a regulatory policy to check early sales of grains in the state. The House members said that food shortage was complicated by the inability of some communities in the northern axis to return to farming due to sporadic attacks by Boko Haram terrorists. Some #ENDSARS protesters have been teargassed and arrested at the gate of National Assembly by the Nigeria Police. The demonstators gathered in front of the complex to paint #ENDSARS grafiti on the floor to remind the Nigerian Government of their demands. The peaceful protest was violently disrupted when the police group fired teargas and arrested about four of the demonstators. Some of the protesters were also beaten while persons passing at the place were harassed. As at the time of filing this report, human amd vehicular movement in the area had been restricted.
