Ex-Nigerian Education Minister, Ezekwesili, Asks President Buhari To Take Responsibility For Lekki Massacre

A former Minister of Education in Nigeria, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, has told President Muhammadu Buhari to take responsibility for the killing of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, on October 20, 2020. She said on her Twitter handle that Buhari should tell Nigerians what happened to those who died as the Commander-In-Chief of the country. She said, “@MBuhari, please tell your citizens what happened to our compatriots in the #LekkiMassacre. “You are the President, C-in-C and are accountable for what @HQNigerianArmy did on the night of 20.10. 2020. The blood of the innocent citizens is crying out for Justice. #ActNow.” The Nigerian Army had on different platforms given divergent accounts of what happened on the day of the attack. Nigerian Soldiers Kill Eight Persons At Ex-House Of Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara’s Mansion In Jos, Dump Bodies Inside Mining Pond

Yakubu Dogara At least eight persons have been killed by Nigerian soldiers and their bodies dumped in a mining pond in Jos, Plateau State, during a clampdown on residents, who stormed the mansion of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, located near Jos University Teaching Hospital. Dogara’s house was attacked on Sunday, October 25, 2020. Soldiers Seen Extorting Pedestrians In Ibadan Arrested

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Seun Fakorede, has said that soldiers seen in a viral video assaulting pedestrians in Ibadan, the state capital, have been arrested. Fakorede said this in a post on Twitter. One soldier was filmed on Sunday flogging a lady for seemingly dressing indecently, while another was captured shaving the hair of some men. Nigerian Students Protest In UK Over Non-payment Of Tuition, Allowances By NDDC

Nigerian students, who are beneficiaries of the scholarship programme by the Niger Delta Development Commission, are currently staging a protest at the Nigeria High Commission, United Kingdom, over the non-payment of their tuition by the NDDC. Two Years After 13-Year-Old Girl Was Raped To Death In Benue State, Family, Others Demand Justice

The family of late Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje and Old Students Association of the Federal Government Girls College, Gboko, Benue State, have said that they have not given up in demanding justice for the victim despite pressure on them to drop the case. The 13-year-old girl, who died on October 18, 2018, was allegedly molested, defiled, drugged and abused from age five until her death by her 52-year-old uncle, Andrew Ogbuja, a lecturer at Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, and his son, Victor. She died shortly after she fell ill to a disease later diagnosed as Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF) and was buried on November 2, 2018. One of the victim’s brothers, Ameh Ejekwonyilo, who spoke with SaharaReporters in Abuja, said the family would not back down in demanding justice for Ochanya irrespective of pressure from any quarters.
