Corrupt judges have no place in National Industrial Court - President warns

- Judges at the National Industrial Court have been warned against indulging in any form of corruption - The warning was issued by the president of the National Industrial Court Babatunde Adejumo - Adejumo said all incoming judges must be incorruptible and hardworking individuals to scale the hurdles of screening The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NIC) has warned it would not condone any form of corruption from judges within the court. The president of the NIC, Babatunde Adejumo, said judges aspiring to the bench of the court must eschew corruption if they must succeed. National Assembly failed Nigerians on restructuring - Senator Adeyeye

- Senator Olusola Adeyeye has blamed the National Assembly for failing to address the issue of restructuring - The senator representing Osun central senatorial district in the parliament, however, said it is subject to a majority vote - He argued that while the failure to push the issue of restructuring was a minus on the part of the 8th Assembly The senator representing Osun central in the National Assembly, Senator Olusola Adeyeye, has blamed the parliament for failing to address the issue of restructuring. - Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state reportedly offered Emir Sanusi three options - The governor had on Wednesday, May 8, approved the creation of 4 new emirates in the state - Sanusi was said to have been told by Ganduje to resign from his position or be sacked by his government There are indications that an ongoing probe by the Kano state government’s anti-corruption agency could lead to charges being filed against the Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II. Lagos deputy governor-elect Hamzat loses dad

The Lagos state deputy governor-elect, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, has lost his father, Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat. He was until his death on Sunday, May 12, the traditional ruler of Afowowa Kingdom in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun state. He was aged 86. According to a family source who pleaded anonymity, his remains would be buried on Monday, May 13, at his Yaya Abatan Street, Ogba residence according to Islamic rites. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)reports that the deputy governor- elect has also confirmed the passage of his father.
