The embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, resigned from office on April 5, 2018, barely 24hours after the National Judicial Council (NJC) recommended that he be compulsorily retired for misconduct and false assets declaration. CJN Onnoghen reportedly sent his resignation letter to the office of President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening, April 4.
